Hardin County has a rich military history. This is evident from the 421 banners that have been displayed throughout the county for the past two years. Our job at the museum is ensuring that this history is recorded and those who bravely served our country are remembered for future generations. In order to do this, the Hardin County Historical Museums, Inc. will be creating a book about those who have served in the military from this county. This is a tremendous undertaking, and we are in need of your help!
If you or someone you know served and is from Hardin County we would love you to share their information with us, so that we can put it in our book. It is free to submit and by doing so you will be ensuring future generations are able to access the information. Below you will find a link to submit information about the person you would like to honor. If you would like to also submit a picture, you have a couple of options: 1) you can email a jpeg file to email@example.com, 2) you may send a copy of the picture to the museum along with your questionnaire, or 3) you can stop at the museum during our open hours and we will scan the picture for you. While the museum will be closed for the month of December, we will be available beginning January 5, 2021. Please know that if you send us a picture, it will not be returned to you so please make sure it is a copy.
Once printed, books will be available for purchase. The deadline to submit the questionnaire will be March 1, 2021. Our plan is to have these books available by Memorial Day 2021. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sheena at the museum by calling 419-673-7147 or by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
